The talented Fedoskino artist Olga Borisova has painted this beautiful box. It shows a Russian girl who ties up her hair with a golden ribbon. The bright august sun floods the meadow where the girl stands with it's golden rays. The portrait is just beautiful! The girl's eyes are deep, all the lineaments are perfect!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom.
