This wonderful piece of exquisite Russian artistry was composed by the talented Sergey Knyazev.
The composition shows a couple that probably just picked up a white puppy and holding it in hands and warming it up.
The scene is painted in the recognizable Knyazev's style. Large pieces of mother-of-pearl that have bright pink, lilac, blue and yellow undertones decorate the composition amazingly. Mother-of-pearl is shines through a tree and also shines through the architecture. Some areas of the composition as the sky and a snow are painted over silver powder.
The scene is framed with a golden ornament. The box's exterior is covered with dark blue lacquer mixed with silver powder, and the interior is traditionally red. The sides of the base of the box are covered with rich flower ornament painted in gold.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed, dated (2011) and titled ("Dog Snowy") by the artist in gold paints on the lid's interior.
