Description:

This charming dual-sided box has been painted by talented Fedoskino artist, Alexey Chirkov. The work is called "Forest Symphony" and on one of the sides shows a couple of squirrels having a rendezvous. On the other side we can see the only one squirrel and two birds painted in gold paint. The scenes are painted in the realistic manner, and reflects the artist's high skill of execution.
Through successfully combined colors and entrancing details, Chirkov enchants the viewer while contemplating these scenes. Various shades of light blue and green oils predominate here, but the trees are paintred with shades of brown colors. With the help of silver powder used as an underlayer for this scene the artist fills the light blue, misty background with a magic glow. Shining gold paint is used to create a shinning of the trees. The artist inlays a cut of mother-of-pearl into the skies and into the trees. The use of mother-of-pearl, silver and gold paint brings an incredible amount of light from the piece.
Painted on this purse-shape paper-mache box, the composition is framed by a rich line of gold paint. Light blue lacquer is used to paint the outside and red lacquer is used to paint the inside of the box. On the box's sides the artist has painted a whimsical pattern in the form of gold scrolls. A hinge is located to the bottom of the compositions, and the box rests on a flat surface. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title and the year of 2011.
