This exquisite piece was composed by talented Fedoskino artist Marina Rogatova. Her color treatment is of masterful design. Her audiences have been consistently inspired and intrigued by the artist's work, both in person and in the many lacquer art books her work is featured in!
The box shows a bouquet of flowers painted in all shades of blue. Rogatova has already created a series of works painted on this theme. The scene is painted in bright oils over silver metal powder that beautifully shines through the oils.details of the painting are just amazing!
The composition is framed with gold line. The box's sides are decorated with an intricate gold floral pattern that wraps around the bottom part of the box's exterior.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The exterior of the piece is painted with a creamy gray lacquer while the interior is painted with a deep red lacquer. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and Fedoskino on the inside of the lid.
