Nataliya Yesikova of Fedoskino is the talented artist responsible for this animated piece of elegance. There is great energy within this box, the characters and their divinely realistic expressions make this so. The box displays the show of circus artists. Musicians trumpet loudly, the jesters dance, and the strong athlete demonstrates his strength lifting dumbbells.
Painting encompasses the entire box, except for the bottom. The palette is filled with blues, reddish browns and greens.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Its interior is traditionally red. The lid is hinged, and the box sits flat. The work is signed, dated (2007) and titled "Circus" by the artist.
