Here is another creation of the prominent artist Nikolay Zotov. He ranks as the one of the best contemporary Masters in Fedoskino, whose creations are displayed in each catalog on the Russian lacquer art. This artist has a peculiar style, and very often his boxes are originally shaped, that is why it is always easy to recognize his unique creations. This interesting installation has also a unique shape! This box shows the characters of Lewis Carroll's (1832-1898) classic tale "Alice in Wonderland".
Like in most of his works, here the artist has created a multi-layered composition to get a three-dimensional effect.
The installation is constructed from paper-mache and epoxy rosin, painted by oils. The work is signed with the artist's name . Its interior is covered with light gray oils. The box's exterior bottom imitates the white marble (tiny light gray veins are scattered against the white background). The lid is hinged. The installation is rests on four small legs.
