The well-known Fedoskino artist Alexey Chirkov is the creator of this gorgeous box. Alexey is fond of owls, falcons and he has already created a series of works dedicated to these birds. This is another work from this series. The work is called "Falconer riding a Horse", and shows a Hunter riding a Horse while the Falcon is sit on his shoulder.
The scene is masterfully drawn -including a Hunter, Horse, Falcon and natural background! Brilliance and luster come from pieces of mother-of-pearl that shine brightly with glimmering blue, green and violet tones in the central part of this box. Gold paint is used to detail the trees, the horse, the costume of the Hunter and a lot of other details.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged to the left of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, Fedoskino and the year of 2011 at the bottom of the composition.
