These two beautiful sides of a purse-shaped box has been painted by well-known Fedskino artist Alexey Chirkov.
One side of this box shows a forest witch Baba-Yaga with her servant- black cat on her shoulder and the basket full of fly agaric mushrooms and other herbs, and the other side shows an owl in the night with wide opened wings, painted over a large piece of mother-of-pearl.
Both compositions are framed with beads-like ornaments painted in silver.
The edges of this purse-shaped box are decorated with stars and other elements painted in silver paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the bottom of the composition, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and a year of 2011.
