This exquisite piece of Russian lacquer artistry was created by established Fedoskino master Alexander Chirkov. Here he has managed to express beauty of the Moscow Kremlin in the early morning. Using a delicate palette filled with pale blues and grays the artist creates a feeling of a hazy morning. The most part of the scene is highlighted richly with shining gold and silver paint. Gold and silver glistens of the architecture, the sky and the river create a surreal atmosphere.
The scene is framed with a wide gold band. Another gold band wraps around the base of the box. The box's sides imitate a stone color: gold dots and veins are scattered against the black lacquered background. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
