One of the top Fedoskino artists, Pavel Anokhin, created this exquisite work. His otherworldly style and subtle palette are as unmistakable as they are stunning.
The box is painted in the style which is unusual for Fedoskino School of miniature painting. To a great extent it is close to the style of surrealism. The work is entitled "A Young Hunter", and depicts a young man hunting for a lion. The scene is framed with a gold band. The exterior of the lid that is free of painting imitates a stone color.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and the year of 2009.
