Talented Fedoskino artist Boris Shavyrin is the author this peaceful box. The animal or birds scenes are traditional subjects in the Fedoskino school. This box depicts an Owl family.
The Owls are very well painted, both sit on the bough of a pine tree.
The sides of the box's exterior imitates the color of marble. The bottom is painted black. The interior is covered with red lacquer. The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2011.
