This beautiful dual-sided box was painted by a leading Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Rogatov and shows hunting scenes. On one side we can see how a hunter and his young son is are looking at the sleepless bear and only hiding from him, and on the other side we can see how fox is trying to catch a wood grouse.
Both scenes are painted in mono-chromic style. A silver paint is used to detail the characters' costumes and the details.
The box exterior is covered with a black lacquer. The box's interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge at the bottom of the scenes, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name and a date on one side.
