This installation of a plate and a small oval box is a creation of the well-known Fedoskino artist Natalya Orlova. The work is called "Hip-Hop", and shows a frog jumping over a jumping rope.
The palette is rich but the predominance is given to various shades of bright green and white oils. Gold metal powder is mixed into oils to enhance some elements of the composition. The painting is spread on the box's lid. On a plate we can see three more frogs that are like waiting in line for their turn...The plate is stands on three glass round feet.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2011 on the box's interior bottom on a piece of mother-of-pearl.
