Description:

This interesting unique-shaped box has been painted by talented Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Tipyakov. It is called "Town of Suzdal" and shows a panoramic view to this beautiful ancient town.
Dmitriy really likes to paint landscape scenes. This comes from his mother-prominent Fedoskino artist-Tatiana Tipyakova, who is also famous by her outstanding landscape scenes.
In this work the artist has managed to express his admiration for a quiet splendor of Russian ancient architecture. We are like stopped for a while on a small road to a little village with a small white-stoned church and cozy village houses. They are perceptively painted with love and care. A scene like this, real or on an artist's canvas, always has a calming effect on the soul.
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the landscape in the way it was rendered.
The compositions are framed with the gold lines-on the top and on the bottom as well as on the lid.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the bottom and the box rests flat. The work is signed, titled and dated 2011 by the artist.
