This attractive dual-sided box is a creation of Sergey Kirsanov from the village of Fedoskino. It depicts two peaceful winter scenes. Several wooden houses and household buildings located not far from the forest are covered with white snow. Painted in the realistic style, this work splendidly reproduce atmosphere of a Russian village!
White and blue-gray tones suitable for depiction of a winter scene dominate here. Mother-of-pearl is set into the sky to create a golden glow of the sunset.
Both compositions are framed with gold lines. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the bottom of the compositions, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name.
