This magnificent box has been painted by Tatiana Kosheleva from the village of Fedoskino.
It is called "Ash-Berry", and shows two girls among the bushes of ash-berry tree. Gold paint highlights the ash-berries. The painting is extended on the lid's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. White lacquer covers the exterior and gold-and-gray lacquer covers the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed, titled and dated (1997) by the artist on the lid's interior.
