Talented artist Galina Sverlova from the village of Fedoskino has painted this sentimental composition of a girl hugging her favourite cat. Several kittens are near by: two are drinking milk and another one is playing with a dew. The scene is nicely painted, with a keen eye for detail. Colors are bright and festive!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name and the year of 2012.
