Svetlana Chirkova of Fedoskino painted this magnificent box. It is called "On the Wings of butterflies", and features a portrait of the beautiful girl surround with butterflies. The artist extended his painting on the box's sides.
The portrait of the girl is painted on an unusual piece of mother-of-pearl in a melody of blue oils that are very appealing to the eye. Her face is very pretty and drawn to perfection with extreme details.Mother-of pearl is giving to a box a depth and 3D effect.
The box's exterior is covered with a black paint and it's interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge has been fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests on the flat bottom. Chirkova has signed, titled, and dated (2007) her work on the box's exterior bottom.
