The box shows Holy Trinity Church in Ostankino(Moscow).
Trinity Church at Ostankino - a monument to old Russian religious architecture, is a remarkable building of the end of the 17th century.
Since the 16th century the church has been suffering consecutive changes and upgrades. The first building was made of wood, and only in 1677 started the stone construction. From the original carved iconostasis in the style of Naryshkin baroque only the lower part of the royal doors are existed.
The building is one of the best and most famous monuments of Russian architecture of the second half of XVII century. Its general construction is traditionally for its time: two tiers of windows, raised on a high basement, with two tiers of windows at the height of the side-chapels along the sides, three-way ambulatory, external staircase and bell tower axis.
The scene is painted in gray tones of oils in the realistic style suitable to a winter season.
The painting is framed with a gold line as well as the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests flat. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2012 and the title "Holy Trinity Church in Ostankino".
