This superb box was painted by an established Fedoskino artist Marie Wagner. The painting of this beautiful originally-shaped box features a circus actor giving a performance to the young Tsaritsa. A monkey is playing the balalaika, and the parrot is singing to the monkey's music.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The exterior of the box is painted with black lacquer while the interior is completed with dark red lacquer. A hinge is fastened to the top of the box. The box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed,wrote Fedoskino and dated (2013) by the artist in white oils on the back side's bottom of the box.
