This stunning work is has been created by well-known Fedoskino artist, Golubeva Elena. It is painted on the Easter theme, and shows a young guy and a young girl giving a triple kiss. This is a Russian Easter tradition that is called "khristosovanie" (exchanging a triple kiss after the greeting "Christ is risen!" that is responded with "Truly He is risen!": one cheek, another cheek, lips).
Based on the oil-on-canvas by Faddei Gorecki "Exchanging Easter Kisses". The characters are painted in cream oils against the dark background. Their costumes are detailed with gold paint and golden leaves inlays.Details are truly stunning!
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the piece. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name,and Fedoskino.
