This festive box has been painted by a talented artist Svetlana Kolmogorova.
The work is called "Forest residents" and shows two young ladies sit in front of their hut surround the forest trees and animals-the forest inhabitants.
The scene is painted in bright oil paints to create a festal mood. Shining pieces of silver metal leaf that can be found under the clothes of the ladies, body of deer and two owls. These pieces are used to strengthen the festive and miraculous atmosphere of an Autumn!
The edges of the lid are adorned with a wide gold and silver ornamentation that is extended on the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box (base) while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name and title.
