Leading Fedoskino artist, Pavel Anokhin, has painted this charming box showing the Bath pool of the Giant.
Anokhin's otherworldly style and subtle palette are easily recognizable. The palette includes his usual blue and gray tones.
The painting of shadows is amazing-the head of a Giant is painted only with different shades...A mom with a Child are painted in a shadow of a tree and colors of their bodies and clothes are darker...
The entire surface of the box (except its bottom) is covered with intricately painted line as an ornament.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Creamy gray lacquer covers the exterior of the box, while the interior of the box is covered with a bit darker gray lacquer. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition, and rests on four legs, that furnished with little metal nails. The work is signed with the artist's name and dated-2014.
