Description: This very detailed composition, showing the ship striving through the surge, was painted by the talented Fedoskino artist, Butsinskiy Yuriy. This scene resembles the famous picture "The Sea. The Bay of Koktebel" painted by Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky in 1853. The huge waves strike desperately against the rocky coast. At any moment the ship that have been washed a shore may break against rocks.
Refined oil-painting techniques give this piece depth and life. The palette used is full of blue and grey paints to convey the marine and aquatic environment within the composition. Light blue and white tones are used to paint the skies that beautifully enlivens the composition. Great movement in the water is painted very naturally showing the seemingly random wave directions and the whitewater being blown off the crests of the waves. The detail in the crashing waves is incredible-the color is excellent!
Composition is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines a re wraps around the sides of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge above the composition and rests on a flat bottom. It is signed with the name of the artist, village, year(2014) and title "Rescue".
Fine work!
