This elegant oval box has been painted by a well-known Fedoskino master, Margarita Belova. Most of all Margarita likes to paint portraits, scenes from peasant life and romantic scenes.
The box shows a loving couple painted against the beautiful end of summer landscape. The scene is painted in various shades of light green oils. The costumes of the characters are very much detailed with gold.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Gold line is decorating the box's sides. The box base's exterior is covered with dark blue viviens painted over the black ; the interior is traditionally red. The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene; the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name,title and the village of Fedoskino. The small add "aut." in front of the name confirms that this box is original artist's creation!
