This interestig composition has been created by the talented Fedoskino artist, Oleg Yastrebov. His ability to depict strikingly decorative compositions is second to none.
The work is called "Moonlight Song", and features a lad playing balalayka on a one ide of the box (and a nouse) and a girl listening to his playing on the other side of the box (and a house).
The scene is painted in bright paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The painting is covering almost all the surface of the box except the base of the box, on which it stands; and it is painted black. Red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is not signed.
