This oval box is a creation of one of the talented Fedoskino artists Alexander Chirkov.Here we can see two squirrels on the tree, while in the background the picturesque country landscape is depicted.
The landscape painted in the background is drawn in subdued blue and grey tones. Gold metal leaf shines as a sun. Gold paint is also used to highlight the tree.
The scene is framed with gold dots on the edge of the lid.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer was used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2015 and the title ("Meeting in the Forest").
