The name of Sergey Rogatov is familiar to any lacquer miniature enthusiast. His works are on display in various museums and lacquer art books!
Here the artist depicted a date of village lad and girl surround summer landscape. Two girls are staying near by as a moral support, other villagers are painted on the background of the composition.
The splendor of Russian countryside with its small villages in the middle of no-where and vast expanses of forests and fields is sensitively expressed here. We can see two churches on the background.
The scene is painted in delicate green and yellow oils.
The painting is framed with a gold line. An intricate gold pattern decorates the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge to the top of the scene, and rests on four legs. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2015.
