Boris Shavirin is the author of this beautiful box showing us the times of older years.
On the background we can see the large market. Looking at this scene the viewer can easily imagine how the citizens of a big Russian city looked like several centuries ago. On front we can see the two ladies talking,and on the back- a young fellow is starring at one of this young beauties...
The costumes of the characters are decorated richly with brilliant gold patterns. Several mother-of-pearl pieces are inlayed in several parts of composition.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior of the base and red lacquer covers the interior of the box.The sides of the box are covered with a mix of the oils, that imitates the brown marble (stone). The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2015.
