This brilliant example of Fedoskino realism has been painted by a talented artist Boris Shavyrin. The box shows several falconers preparing for a hunt. In old Russia falconers had to supply game to the tsar's court and got some benefits therefore. On the background we can see another falconer with falcon on his hand.
Falconer's costumes are richly decorated with gold paint. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl are shines through the costume of the falconer who turns to us with his back, as well as mother-of pearl of green color is shins through the costume of another hunter on a horse.
The composition is framed with a rich gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The sides of the box are imitates the color of brown marble. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2015.
