Boris Shavirin is the author of this beautiful box showing us the times of the past.
Looking at this scene the viewer can easily imagine how the citizens of a big Russian city lives several centuries ago. We can see the two ladies that are going home from the Church servise,and a young handsome fellow is looking at one of this Russian beauties. On the background we can see coupals of small Churches and the meeting taking place on a wooden bridge.
The costumes of the characters are decorated richly with brilliant gold patterns. Several mother-of-pearl pieces are inlayed in the composition.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior of the base and red lacquer covers the interior of the box.The sides of the box are covered with a mix of the oils, that imitates the brown marble (stone). The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2015.
