Description:

This large five-sided casket has been painted by a talented Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Tipyakov.The casket shows scenes from Fairy-tales written by a well-known Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
The shows us a scene from the Tale of "Ruslan and Ludmila" and shows Ruslan has catch wizzard Chernomor by his beard and they were flied for two days, until Chernomorgave up and bring Ruslan to a palace where wizzard kept his Ludmila.
On the front side we can see poet Pushkin under the Oak tree.Lukomorie. "Lukomorye" that can be translated into English as "By the Ocean". In the Russian folklore "Lukomorye" is also known as the fairy land inhabited by various fairy-tale characters (here we can remember Pushkin's introduction to the popular poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila" that begins with the following line: "An oak tree greening by the ocean; A golden chain about it wound..."
On the right hand side of the casket we can see Baba Yaga and Koshey the Deathless.
On the back side- the battle of Ruslan and the Giant Head.
And on the left hand side we can see a moment from Tale of Tsar Saltan.
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the painting in the way it was rendered.
The casket is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed and dated (2015) by the artist. Also each side is with the name of the fairy-tale.
