Description: Pichugina Margarita is the exceptional talented artist behind this interesting work. Here the artist has depicted a pair flirting on a Masquarade. The face of Lady is hidden behind the mask, both major figures are dressed very rich.On the back side there are also two figures. Lady's face is looks very pretty and not covered with glasses or mask, but she has a mask in her hand. A young boy to the right has a hat of a Jester and plays a tambourine.
The whole composition is richly decorated with three pieces of mother-of-pearl! One piece is "hidden" under the fan of a lady, the other one is behind the mask, that a lady from the back stage is holding in her arm and the last one is in the tambourine of Jester.
The sides of the box are richly decorated with a mixture of bronze oils and looks unusual.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The exterior of the box is painted black, while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (Masquerade), and the village of Fedoskino.
