This splendid box was painted by the talented family tandem of the artists The Komogorovs Konstantine and Svetlana. It shows the final moment of the popular Russian fairy-tale "Flying Ship". The plot of this tale is truly interesting. One of three brothers embarks on a journey aboard a flying ship, during which he takes on as passengers, six men with special powers. With the help of each man's different talent, he is able to perform impossible tasks set for him by the Tsar and marry the Tsar's daughter.
The composition painted in very bright and colorful tones. The costumes of the characters are shines, because the artists has used aluminum foilas amn under layer for the painting, the surrounding architecture and landscape are painted in gold and aluminum paints.
The sides of the box are decorated with trees richly painted gold and animals.
The box is made out of paper-mache, and has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests flat. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. Signed by the artist with their names and Fedoskino, titled in white paints under the composition.
