This splendid composition was painted by the famous Fedoskino Master Pavel Anokhin. His otherworldly style and subtle palette are as unmistakable as they are stunning. His approach to miniature painting is philosophical and he puts his thoughts behind every work. He prefers to create his own themes and scenes which he calls "dreams about the beautiful".
To understand his idea in this composition, we need to get the translation of what the artist has wrote under the painting:

The box shows two adults, who are fighting with each other on small puppets. The puppets have weapons- one is armed with a sword, another with a spear...
In addition to these two men and puppets, the artist have painte the "wall-papers" on a theme of a battle, well-done details!!!
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Blue lacquer covers the exterior and creamy gray covers the interior of the box. The composition has a rich frame. The box has a hinge to its top and rests on four foot finished with yellow metal nails.
Composition is signed at the bottom with the artist name.
