This elegant Fedoskino box was painted by Irina Turbenyova. It features the lady who has just given birth to a child. She comes home from a doctor accompanied by her husband and friends. Blue tones that help to reproduce the atmosphere of an early foggy morning dominate here.
The scene is covering the whole lid and comes a bit on the sides of the box. Two parallel gold lines decorate the sides of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition. The box rests on a flat bottom. It is signed by the artist at the bottom of the composition.
