This festive box has been painted by a talented artist Svetlana Komogorova. The work is called "Snowmaiden" and shows us her as a human, as a lady.
Snowmaiden is painted in a circle in the center of the composition. The scene is painted in bright oil paints to create a festal mood. Shining pieces of gold metal leaf that can be found in the costume of Snowmaiden and rich golden ornaments are used to underline the beauty of Snowmaiden. Snowmaiden has a diadem in her hair.
Composition is framed with a gold line. Sides of the box are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a wavy platform.
The work is signed with the artist's maiden name(Streltsova), the title, and the village of Fedoskino at the bottom of the composition.
