This box painted by the famous Fedoskino Master Sergey Kozlov continues his series of works dedicated to the Russian Landscape scenes.
The work is callled "Silence" and shows early Autumn scene. In this work the artist has used his favorite palette composed of various shades of gray oils mixed with aluminum powder. The Church, that we can see on the other bank of a river, reflects in the water. The grass is getting yellow color, so the artist paint it in gold.
The box exterior is covered with black lacquer and composition is framed with metal gold line glued to the box manually.
The box is made out of paper-mache. It has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. The box is signed by Sergey Kozlov, date 1996 and the village of Fedoskino.
