This small, but very detailed box was painted by Fedoskino Master Sergey Kozlov. It continues his series of works dedicated to the sights of Saint Petersburg. The composition shows a view of the city from the bank of river. On the background we can see one of the Churches of St.Petersburg. At the foreground we can see two small boats.
In this work the artist has used blue and yellow palettes. Mother-of-pearl fills the composition with a magic surrealistic glow from the river and from the skies.
The box exterior is covered with black lacquer and composition is framed with a gold line.
The box is made out of paper-mache. It has a hinge from the left of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. The box is signed inside the lid by Sergey Kozlov, date 1997 and the village of Fedoskino.
