Talented Fedoskino artist Alexander Chirkov is the creator of this extreamly detailed box. This artist is fond of owls, and he has already created a series of works dedicated to these enigmatic birds of prey. This is one more work from this series!
Here Chirkov depicts the owl sit on a branch of a tree. The scene is painted in brown, gray and blue tones. A piece of mother-of-pearl is shinning through the water in the lower part of the painting. The branch of a tree is richly painted in gold.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box.
The painting is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines are decorating the sides of the box.
The lid is hinged from the left, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino miniature.
