This attractive box was painted by Fedskino artist Zinaida Buzovkina. Her works are easy to recognizable as this artist has a peculiar painting and colour style.
The box is shows two boys walking through young bushes from a village. One of them has a book that he is carring on the wooden stick, the other one is eating apple.
Blue, green and brown tones are dominated here.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
