This splendid box was painted by the talented Fedoskino artist Marie Wagner. It shows a moment from the fairy-tale of Magic Bird.
The composition is painted in recognizible style of Marie Wagner. This combination of the colors is became her visit card! The costumes of the characters, the surrounding architecture and landscape are richly detailed with aluminum paints. Looking at this scene we may imagine the way of life of Russians in the XVI-XVII centuries.

The box is made out of paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on platform with four legs. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The work is signed with the artist's name.
