Description:

Vladislav Maslov from Fedoskino has painted this piramyd-shaped box.
It is a fine specimen of an oil based painting, which adheres to the principle techniques and methods of the Fedoskino style. It is an artist's original composition as well, which was taken straight from the creative depths of his head to this box.
The box shows Baba-Yaga sitting near her magic hut. The artist decide to use the shape of the piramyd box as a shape of Baba Yaga Hut! The artist has made additional installation in the form of a stove pipe!
Baba-Yaga is the oldest character of the Slavonic mythology. Originally Baba-Yaga was the goddess of death; people imagined her as a woman with the snake tail who guarded the entrance into the other world and accompanied the souls of dead people into the Kingdom of the Dead. The scene is drawn in dark tones over the gold. Gold paint is used to detail Baba-Yaga's costume and some other minor details. Round mother-of-pearl inlay can be found on one of the sides of a box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box is hinged and it rests on four round legs.
