The scene is painted in the realistic style using white and blue tones of oils. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl of light pink colour are set into the sky to enliven the scene!
Snowy expanses of Russian countryside and the wooden church that rises on the front of a small village are brilliantly painted. Kirsanov paints with a fine brush, achieving almost invisible transitions of colors. Refined oil-painting techniques give this scene depth and life.
