This charming box has been painted by a talented artist Olisova Larisa. In the composition the artist depicts Snowmaiden sit on a Deer surround the Winter forest at Night.
The miniature is neatly done and follows the traditions of Fedoskino master Oleg Shapkin. Larisa uses a palette with realistic blue, white and green tones, and infusions of bright paints for emphasis. The figure of Snowmaiden is painted over the large piece of mother-of-pearl! That means that her rich fur coat painted over a huge piece of mothe-of-pearl! The moon in the sky is painted over mother-of-pearl and shines very bright.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box sits flat. The sides of the box are decorated with the rich gold floral pattern. It is made by a carving over the sheets of real gold clued to the surface of the sides. Signed with the name of the artist, village Fedoskino and a title- Golden Horned Deer.
