This gorgeous piece of authentic Russian artistry was painted by a talented Fedoskino artist, Konstantin Danshin. A beautiful combination of quality craftsmanship and exceptional artistry!
Konstantin was born in the city of Dmitrov, in 1968. His father is a professional musician, a member of the State Symphonic Orchestra of Yuriy Svetlanov. Danshin's father managed to inculcate in his son a taste for an art. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled Konstantin in an art school. In 1983, Konstantin entered the Fedoskino Art School, where he studied under the guidance of V.N. Frolov, N.G. Marchukov and V.D. Antonov. Now K. Danshin's works are exhibited in different museums in Russia and all over the world! Konstantin is fond of animals, especially cats. Quite often he depicts his cats on his miniatures, and this box isn't exception.
The box features of a Lion.
The quality of the painting is very high, details of an animal are just amazing! Shades are sharp, details are presise and looks superb, photo like quality!
In the background we can see the forest trees, bushes and grass.
The scene is painted in yellow and brown oil tones.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Another two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the work, while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests on a wavy platform with eight legs. The work is signed by the artist at the bottom of the composition.
