This splendidly painted box is an original creation of talented artist Dmitriy Bebikhov from the village of Fedoskino.
The artist has crafted elegance of this attractive character of Cinderella and her godmather-magician.
The sentimental tale of, "Cinderella", or "Zolushka" (in the Russian transcription of the tale) tells about the poor and hard working girl who is rewarded in the end of the story for her kind heart and love to labour. The handsome Princes proposes marriage to her, and she becomes the Princess.
Here the artist has depicted the moment of the story when Cinderella's godmother, a kind fairy, presents the girl the ball-dress, the crystal shoes and the golden carriage. Now Cinderella is ready to attend a royal ball, but she doesn't know that this ball is organized to help the Prince to choose a bride.No doubt, it was Cinderella dressed in the rich elegant dress, and the happy end of the story approaches.

The scene is painted in bright oil paints against the dark background to create a festal mood.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on the four legs.
The work is signed with the artist's name, the title,date 2012 and the village of Fedoskino at the bottom of the composition.
