Wagner Marie from the village of Fedoskino is the talented artist responsible for this delightful piece. The box is of semicircular shape and shows major charcters of children's tale of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Many lacquer miniaturists often depict the Russian version of this story entitled "The Dead Princess and Seven Bogatyrs".
Here we can see the Snow White and all seven dwarfs outside near their house . One of the dwarfs is getting the Snow white a basket full of fruits.
In the story Snow white fall asleep under the influence of Queen's evil spell. Only the Prince who loves the Snow White can awaken her with his sweet kiss. As we know the story has a happy end.
Marie Wagner has her own recognizible style of painting and number of colours that she has used.
The composition is drawn in dark oils.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
The lid is hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2020 in white oils.
