This interesting scene is a creation of one of the talented Fedoskino artists, Alexander Chirkov. Here we can see two squirrels on the tree.
The landscape painted in the background is drawn in subdued black and grey tones. A piece of mother-of-pearl is shining through the rising moon and forest. Gold and silver paints are also used to highlight the tree.
The scene is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines are decorated te size of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer was used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on four wavy legs. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2021 and the title "Forest Duet".
