Larisa Poturayko from the village of Kholui is the exceptional artist who created this attractive small box. It represents the artist's series of works dedicated to the cats-musicians. Here we can see the cat-violinist who has arranged a concert for two mice in the winter forest. Various shades of blue suitable of the depiction of a winter scene dominate here. The details within the composition are enhanced tremendously by the golden and aluminum contours.
A thin wavy line frames the scene, while the sides are decorated with intricate gold ornamentation highlighted with blue tempera paints.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. On the box's exterior bottom you can find the author's name, the fact that this is an artist original, the title for the piece ("Violinist"), and the village name of Kholuy.
